back into the rain...

Hello there readers...so sorry for the delay in updating! We returned to the US just two weeks ago. Time has flown by, as we knew it would!
Thank you again, for all of your prayer support before and during the trip! We continue to ask you for your prayers as we have returned to the rainy state of Washington and as we see what God has in store for us!

Tea party...

Today we had a fun tea party! We enjoyed conversation (at least they all did...my Portuguese is nonexistant), a great time decorating cupcakes and planning for the halloween party. This opportunity was special because of the friendships that are being built and developed. It was also very special because as they left, they were each given a gift that included a Bible in Portuguese. Be praying that they take the time to start reading from the Bible and also that they will feel free to ask Hannah questions about the Bible in the following days and months.

When we got to Lisbon, we began to quickly enjoy the coffee that they serve here. There are cafes all over the place and it has been fun trying all the different brands. Each cafe holds about the same amount of caffeine as 3-4 cups of coffee in the states. There is legend here of someone drinking 12 cafes in one day...so Doug took this as a challenge to beat while he was here.

While we have been in Portugal, we have been enjoying the yummy foods everywhere we go! My favorite is the different soups that are offered at every little place we have gone.
I made some last night so I could continue to enjoy it back in the states!

Time for Tea...

Usually on this blog, I have been waiting for pictures to post updates but for this special day I felt you all needed to be updated beforehand so that you can be praying. We have been preparing for a special tea party with some of the ladies that Hannah has met in her time here in Lisbon. At the party, we will be enjoying tea, snacks and having fun decorating cupcakes. We will also be taking this time to give each lady a gift of a Bible. Hannah has taken the time to mark out verses in each Bible and we have been making bookmarks for each verse so they can find each one easily.
Be praying for the Bibles to reach each of these families in special ways, we know that God's word is full of power and just getting it into the hands of these few women is a great opportunity for the spread of the gospel.

Relationships...

We are having a great time in Portugal. We are enjoying the culture, foods, people and many impressive structures. One of the wonderful things about the culture here is the importance they place on their children and birthday parties! Our niece, Bria had her birthday earlier this month but shared her party with her sweet friend Bea after we arrived. The relationships that our family shares with these families is special and as they continue to develop these friendships will become a primary tool in bringing the gospel to Lisboa.
